The cetane number is an important indicator for measuring the spontaneous combustion performance of diesel, which directly affects key performance such as cold start, exhaust emissions, and combustion noise of diesel engines. The cetane number of straight run diesel is generally above 50, which can meet the combustion requirements of high-speed diesel engines. However, with the increasing demand for diesel, the proportion of catalytic diesel and coking diesel has increased, and these diesel fuels have lower cetane numbers (usually between 30-40) and poorer combustion performance.
